 The Rheems Fire Department conducts various Fire Prevention Activities throughout the year. We visit local elementary schools, as well as host  programs at the Station for Home School, Pre-School and Kindergarten students. We also provide programs for local businesses.  Fire Prevention at Elizabethtown Child Care Center

Members of the Department participated in the Elizabethtown Child Care 40th Anniversary celebration by bringing Engine 7-11-2 and talking to the children and adults about Fire Prevention and what to do in the event of a fire. We were surprised to receive a huge card depicting what the children learned. As always, it is out pleasure to take the Fire Prevention message to anyone who asks for our participation. Kids Day at Kinseys 2009

Members of the Department brought Fire Prevention to the annual Kids Day event at Kinsey's on Steel Way. Attended by hundreds of children, it gave us the opportunity to reach out with the importance of Fire Safety. Nearly 150 children and adults went through the Smoke Trailer provided by the Lower Swatara Fire Department.
