Rush Hour Crash Causes Traffic Tie Up
Thu. Jan 28th 2010

Units from RFD and EFD were tapped out at 1513 hours for a Mass Transit Vehicle Accident on Route 230 in the area of E-town Dodge. Ambulance 7-4-3 discovered the incident while performing a routine transport. Chief 7-11 (Stanford) arrived with a two vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a school van. The operator of the passenger vehicle was in the care of EMS, and all occupants of the van were reporting uninjured. E-7-11-2 was directed to respond via Schwanger Road and take the center lane on arrival. Hazard control and assistance with patient care were assigned. E-7-4-1 was originally directed to respond non-emergency and stage at Jonlyn Drive. Squad 7-11 accessed through the quarry and took up a position south of the scene. Chief 7-11-2 (Brandt) directed the Squad crew to assist with hazard control. E-7-4-1 was recalled. One patient was transported by MA7-4-7. Crews cleared the scene after the vehicles were removed.

Fire Police from 7-4 and 7-11 controlled traffic around the scene until completed.
