Fire Department Key Box Installation (Knox Box)

The Knox-Box® Rapid Entry System is a secure emergency access program developed for property owners and first responders. First Responders across North America use the Knox-Box Rapid Entry System to prevent costly entry damage while protecting property and lives.

When a fire breaks out or there is a medical emergency, Knox® products allow immediate entry into buildings and property without forced entry damage or delay. Property owners store entrance keys, access cards and floor plans in high-security Knox-Box key boxes mounted near building entrances. Each Knox-Box purchased by a property owner is keyed to a single master key controlled by the local responding department.

Fire Safety Resources

Protecting Lives Starts with Prevention

At Rheems Volunteer Fire Department, we believe the best emergency is the one that never happens. That’s why fire safety education is at the heart of our mission. By learning and practicing fire prevention tips, you can help keep your family, neighbors, and community safe.

Everyday Fire Safety Tips:

  • Install and regularly test smoke alarms on every level of your home.

  • Create and practice a home fire escape plan with your family.

  • Keep space heaters at least three feet from anything that can burn.

  • Never leave cooking unattended, especially when using oil or high heat.

  • Store matches and lighters out of the reach of children.

  • Ensure your house numbers are clearly visible for emergency responders.

Fire prevention is a shared responsibility, and with preparation, we can reduce risks and save lives together.
